Shinichi with some time on his hands entered the near pitch black cavern. It was a place he had explored since before he was a Shinigami; now it was a location where he could gather his thoughts or train in solitude. His earlier shenanigans in the 2nd division were long over and he was all back to normal once again. He descended further into the depths of the cave where the sun's rays could not pierce; he paused here and drew his Zanpakuto from its sheath on his back. Twirling the katana around in his hand stopping it in a reverse he whispered the phrase to release his weapon.
A great flash illuminated the entirety of the rock filled cave, revealing its contents for a moment. A rock pool; large boulders, a small tent put up by Shinichi a while back. Most notably a large open area with huge gashes and craters of destroyed rock, a place where Shinichi honed his skills often.
The light that shone through the cave faded and only the area around Shinichi glowed; the lightning darting around his extended Zanpakuto serving as his guide. Shinichi strode towards his tent and stopping outside the entrance, he embedded the tip of his nodachi into the ground and sat down beside it closing his eyes and focusing on his inner world; an almost perfect reflection of the cavern.
