Kyūbantai activities? The check-up Empty
PostSubject: Kyūbantai activities? The check-up   Kyūbantai activities? The check-up EmptySat Oct 02, 2010 2:28 am

Now that the dinner was over and done with, Tetsu finally had the chance to do what had been planning on doing for a long time now. The monthly dinners and other Captain obligations had proved to be a hindrance so far, but not anymore. The male had a peaceful look on his face, probably a result of finally having some alone time. It was sort of fun, but he always found himself uncomfortable with spending lots of time with such groups. Especially when dangerous individuals such as Izanagi were involved. But peace had returned to the Division grounds, if only momentarily. While the day was still young and clear, he could finish the last task in his line of duty before enjoying a short rest and a moment of relaxation. He headed towards the nearby storage, discovering a set of old stairs. These stairs lead directly to the roof of his Division. A secret exit or so to say. He was now all set for the one overdue job he had to do - Properly surveying the progress of his Division, and reporting back to other Divisions, the First Division in particular. It was sort of bothersome, but someone had to do it. Besides he didn't mind. So long as he could do it mostly unnoticed, it would be a simple task. Just take a look at what everyone is doing. Peaceful days like these were great. No military trainings or publishing the magazine. Just doing the simpler tasks at your own pace before calming down for the evening.

And so he walked onwards, lowering his innate reiatsu signature to the lowest point possible. It was a strange habit of his, hiding even from his own peers. Taking precaution and such. Heck, he didn't even want to be noticed by them. He could do a better review if they didn't know that he was there. Catching them off-guard, viewing how they did their jobs naturally when he or his Lieutenant weren't there. Not to mention that anyone who could spot him deserved a special mention. Because so far, his sneaks had gone mostly unnoticed unless the blunder was self-inflicted. And the sneak of today had gone so far so good. The few trainees sparring outside in their garden of battles were so engaged in their little fights that they didn't even bother trying to survey their surroundings a little better. Two of the older men there giving them some tips, while enjoying sake on a break they were having. The beads of sweat running through their foreheads proving that they weren't entirely lazing off either. He crawled away from the edge of the roof, proceeding to other destinations. The walls outside of their Division barracks were common spots for the usual work-skippers. There were some amongst every Division. Whether they were the truly lazy ones, or the ones who became Shinigami only due to their connections to some Royal Families. The kind of people who just didn't care.

He sneaked there, still silent as ever, taking a peek down from the bare edge of the roof. Sure enough, there were three people there. One of them simply hanging against the wall and yawning, two talking while having a smoke. In any case, they were breaking the Division rules. He was sure he had told them hundreds of times that he hated smoking. At first he was thinking of giving them a personal lesson in humility. But the thought quickly crossed over, knowing that such a punishment would perhaps be a bit too harsh. That's why he took a memo from within the hidden depths of his uniform, and the pen Ichijou gave him earlier. Writing the names of the people there up, and deciding to give them extra clean-up duty later. Indeed, as one of the Shinigami he had all the time in the world to focus on these little details, given their absurdly long life-span. Going and memorizing the names of everyone in his Division. In the end it wasn't even such a difficult task. Shaking his head in disapproval for a bit, he left the area as quickly as he came there. This time finding a hatch in the roof, entering the insides of the Division through it. Now that the areas outside had been quickly checked, he could focus on the more bothersome task pertaining to his current job. The insides of his maze-like home. Seriously, they had rooms for everything. And all the rooms with any people in them had to be checked. Apart from the womens bathroom. He would have to count on someone else to go there. Yeah, his code of honor prevented him from doing anything indecent. He coughed twice, scurrying up on his way.

Trying to find all the people of his Division would indeed be a bothersome task, if done manually. So he decided to risk his cover a little and go for a simpler solution. Increasing his reiatsu levels just enough to get an accurate view on all the signatures within the premise of his Division. Then kicking it up a notch and going for the advanced technique known as Reiraku. Forming threads out of the all individual signatures and following them towards all the Shinigami there. Room after room, the training rooms and resting areas, removing the individual threads after he was done checking up on the person. Applications of such techniques were useful at times. So very useful. The Captain went on, Shunpoing through the entire Division. Finishing the report took more than an hour, but it was worth it. Most of the people were doing their training, the others were writing their reports, and those assigned to the magazine were either trying to finish the current cover or searching info all around Seireitei. It was good, mostly. Perhaps a bit too peaceful for his tastes. The people were mostly stationary. Working up on their business as usual, yet having frequent breaks. Somehow the spirit wasn't entirely there. Sighing, he places his hand on his face, trying to think of ways of making his Division more efficient. A single Shunpo later, he was out of there. It was the time for his official break anyways. All the paper work, he finished it ages ago.

The male went outside of his Division. At this time letting his guard down enough for others searching for him to sense him properly. Searching for his favorite spot, a small bit of land left untouched. A tiny cliff, with a large tree growing on it. Away from the buildings and the commotion. He usually took refuge in peaceful areas such as these. Below the branches, laying his head against the trunk of the tree and laying his body on the ground below. His eyes closed, a peaceful look on his face. The person was now having his first proper rest in ages, yet without ever falling asleep. Memories and thoughts running through his head. Viewing a slow panorama of events. He yawned, his arms now tugged firmly behind of his head. Giving him some support, and taking upon a more relaxed pose. This was what he had been looking for. The perfect kind of solitude and reprieve for such a soul. He didn't need people around of him, though some were actually quite fun. Just himself and what he held important. Even positions such as Captaincy didn't hold so much importance for him. These moments were the best for him.

Kyūbantai activities? The check-up Empty
PostSubject: Re: Kyūbantai activities? The check-up   Kyūbantai activities? The check-up EmptyMon Oct 04, 2010 5:38 pm

As usual there was a horrendous amount of paperwork to manage...

Sat at one side of the room, tucked away behind the security of her desk, reading the same piece of paper. Third time lucky, was the saying, wasn't it? Desperately hoping this time it would be more understandable. The woman had been doing paperwork all week, and hadn't given any time to anyone at all. Sometimes she had to wonder if she was losing her mind, to all the mindless words scribbled down on paper endless times. It still didn't make sense. All these documents made her head ache; eyelids began to droop over her eyes, before fluttering open once more as she tried to stay awake. Strange. The woman was feeling very tired, as if she did not get a good night sleep. Even though, she got at least four hours. More than enough for work. No use fighting against the will of her mind. Adjusting the positions of the current seating, Emiko granted herself more room. Arms draped along the top part of the wooden structure, crossed over one another. Surprisingly, this made the perfect temporary pillow. Raging against the drowsiness that was setting in, but still, her body slowly slouched forward. Neck craning, head propped against slender limbs. The location wasn't ideal, but enough to satisfy her needs. With chest pressed against the desk. Back rising then falling with steady breaths of slumber. The natural assumption from another would be that this sleeping beauty was out for good. That was almost the truth.

The ringing of a voice permeated through her slumbering mind causing her to moan softly in her sleep-like status. The woman perked up, blue eyes groggily setting themselves upon a lone soul standing at the door. A louder moan – one of pure annoyance – emitted from her mouth as she slapped a dainty hand against her forehead. Remaining in silence for a moment, finally getting a hold of the world around her; the junior member was the first to break the silence. “Asahina-san, are you feeling well?..” The young girl spoke with genuine concern. A little too sweet for her tastes, but to be expected. Forcing a reassuring smile to lips, and returning the question with a honest nod, again the member spoke. “.. that looks like a lot of work, even for you, Asahina-san.” After-all, Emiko treated those the way she wished to be treated. “Ah, yes,” Emiko spoke softly, making the tone of her voice crack from lack of sleep. This opportunity was one that couldn't blow over. With that, the woman started gathering the paperwork together, sorting it out into a neat, manageable pile. Oddly pale legs pulled themselves into a stance, magenta locks falling rather neatly around her face, brushing past her neck and shoulders, cascading down her back. To think that she had crashed out during her duties, it just didn't seem so. With precisely three long strides, her figure now towered over the other girl.

“You're a very intelligent female, I trust you will have this all done by tomorrow morning. Thank you in advance.” Making out the last of her words, the junior merely blinked up at the woman through dazed eyes. Hands working slower than the mind desired, she barely caught the sheets that were piled into her hands by the superior. Emiko walked out, in briskly fashion down the hall, trying to walk as fast as possible without actually running. If she was caught running, it would not set a good example for the rest of the division. Biting down on her bottom lip delicately, she gave a smile to a group who greeted her. They were the newest members the Ninth had received, if she recalled correctly. And they were few of the many people who looked up to her with awe in their eyes. To them, she was the epitome of elegance and grace, not to mention popularity with her looks and such. Having such bright hair that easily stood out amongst the crowd of dark hair people, with the exception of the few that dyed theirs, or whom were naturals. Though, most people regarded her as one of them, and overlooked her foreign appearance, thankfully.

Next on her agenda, to check up on her Captain. However, her eyes narrowed slightly, taking on a stern look when she saw that Tetsuya's office was empty. This was anticipated. He either was cutting work, or just attending to other duties. It was more than likely the second reason, considering the type of person he is. There were many times where Tetsuya vexed her through the work he didn't finish, that she had quelled the urge to pick up a nearby object and chuck it at his head. However, it was against her nature, and that wouldn't be setting a good example, would it? That sparked another thought, rolling into the back of her mind; he often held a monthly meal for the other divisions around this date. A meal that she had forgotten to attend this time around, which was also the first time she had neglected to go. It would be best to seek him out, and formally apologize for her absence. It would also provide the woman with a chance to question him on how his day was going, and if there was anything else that needed to be done.

As the lieutenant had gotten a good distance away from the division quarters, finally halting in all of her movements. Which did look pretty awkward; her rump was sticking up as she was standing on her toes, with her upper body lowered. Finding exactly what she was looking for. Beaming, and her azure gaze filled with awe as she regarded the spot where Tetsuya was resting. It was more than likely he would be aware of her presence, yet, that did not stop her from trying to be as quiet as possible. “Gomen nasai, Shirogane-senpai,” Emiko apologized under her breath, giving him a half bow, still approaching, her footing slow and hesitant. Until she sat herself down at a reasonable distance. Casting her eyes down and her cheeks inflamed in complete realization of her Captain's appearance. It was best to break the silence now, and let him know that she was here - if he didn't know already - it could be taken the wrong way if she sat there in silence, waiting for him to awaken. “Slacking off, are we?..”

Kyūbantai activities? The check-up Empty
PostSubject: Re: Kyūbantai activities? The check-up   Kyūbantai activities? The check-up EmptyTue Oct 05, 2010 7:31 am

The Captain of the ninth Division really was having a nice rest under the tree. Finally free of worries and duty, having a moment of peace and quiet all to himself. He ignored the beauty of his surroundings, the sun that was still glowing a bright light as it began to gradually settle down, the blossoming cherries that floated around, and the magnificent sights of the Seireitei opening up before of him. Instead, he closed his eyes, and isolated himself in a world of his own. Merely listening to the sounds of nature as he began drifting off. The usually grumpy male finally looking peaceful, almost serene. His eyes closed, and lips pulled down to a neutral expression. While he already was a man by appearance, the look on his face being an innocent one. Almost like a lost child. He would remain motionless for a long time, constantly bordering between reality and daydream within these isolated thoughts of his. While he hadn't originally planned on doing so, the gruff male couldn't help but to reminisce on what his life was like in the past. Those happy and simple days, when everything seemed so right.

When left alone like this, the male really did experience fits of sudden nostalgia quite often. It was in his nature, though he sometimes even felt like forgetting some if not all of it. Within this world, everyone has to experience pain and sadness every now and then. Some people more often than others. Yet he wasn't reminiscing on the events that made him what he is today, but rather the pleasant experiences he still held dear to this day. A single face showing itself more clear to him than the others. A soft sigh escaped his lips at that moment, only audible to the one other person who was there as well. It was quite surprising that he seemed to ignore the presence. No, he hadn't even noticed the other person standing besides of him yet. He was just that caught up within his daydream. But the presence of the familiar female would not go unnoticed for long. The male's mind gradually turning towards to reality after a small shadow was cast over him. I don't want to go yet, he thought once within his daze, before deciding it was time to go now. None of this was actually real. Just one of those strong memories of his heart.

The eyes of that male twitched a little, before he finally opened them. The light emanating from the evening sun being too strong for his eyes at first. A familiar sight faintly opening before of him. "Wha... Sis?" he spoke in a silent and a very soft tone, sounding very different from his usual self. That same innocent expression remaining on his face for a moment. He then pulled himself up, now sitting on the grass, having also brought his right arm over his eyes. Shielding them from the light that came from the sun. While the resemblance was there, he knew it couldn't be. Another familiar figure showing herself to him. The male sighed, but not in an annoyed tone, his expression now the same as usual. "Tch. Damn memories", his voice still sounding soft, Tetsuya Shirogane left out a sarcastic remark at himself. There was only one person like that who could locate him without much difficulty. The current Lieutenant of his Division, Asahina Emiko. No one could mistake those shimmering blue eyes nor that brightly colored hair. Well, apart from a very nostalgic Tetsu...

He left out a quick snicker, before pulling himself up off the ground completely. The two, while very different, somehow didn't look too contrasting besides one another. Perhaps it was because of the rather unusual color his hair had as well, or because of them having known for a while already, who knows. Tetsuya yawned once, now placing his right hand on his forehead, also ruffling his hair while at it. Still spiky as ever. It was a mystery, how his hair stayed so spiky and smooth even without much care. Especially since he was a male. "What is it, Emiko-san? Finally done with your work as well?" his voice finally turned rougher, almost like it usually was, yet still showed a surprising amount of honesty and consideration. It was very rare not to hear this Captain swearing, or even sounding kind after all. Right now, he was just in a good mood. And Emiko was one of the few people who didn't seem to make a habit out of trying to pull out the worst out of him. Their familiarity being shown by how he went with the first name basis - a certain amount of good manners still shown through the use of a suffix.

Kyūbantai activities? The check-up Empty
PostSubject: Re: Kyūbantai activities? The check-up   Kyūbantai activities? The check-up EmptyTue Oct 05, 2010 4:12 pm

Turning from where she sat, moving closer to her Captain, just only slightly. Emiko started feeling a chill running down her spine. The atmosphere that collected around the femme, it was all.. foreign. A kind that she had never experienced before. Staring from left to right, it seemed that finding anything to divert her attention onto, was becoming impossible. Cerulean optics shifting from where they once where, carefully placing themselves onto the male a short distance away. There was something else she had never experienced before. Seeing her Captain look so peaceful, carefree and innocent while resting. And there it was. The atmosphere could only be explained as disappointing. Even by doing so much, it just wasn't enough. Paperwork was not the only duty a Captain had to perform. To discover that Tetsuya was pushing himself so hard, that would mean she was failing at her own duties of being a lieutenant, wouldn't it? And that just wouldn't cut it. Just why; why on earth did he have to look so harmless?

Scolding herself mentally, she was aware this would prove to be troublesome. Especially when it came to lecturing him. Though, only out of respect. And partially out of revenge. Now a new problem was thrown into the equation. Inner temptation growing, one to just reach out and trace her fingers across his skin. The expression his features hold is so unlike the personality most would view him by. Sharp, and ruthless. Yet, perhaps, this was the soft and smooth layer under all those rough edges. The pressure was pressing down on her violently, viciously until she was almost sure she was going to snap in half, like a delicate twig. With hidden courage rising from her stomach and unfurling onto the surface, she extended out a slender limb. She doesn't understand her own actions, and doesn't understand why this is happening. The lieutenant's vision did not falter. Remaining fixated on her prize; she doesn't want to close her eyes. Wanting to take in everything. To take in every detail, and paint it upon the canvas of her mind.

At that exact moment, an odd, familiar scent combed into her nostrils. It was that of crisp air, falling temperatures, what she can remember of the Rukongai. And now, she's surrounded by nothing but warmness. A warmth that hits her core, taking her back from the memories. So close, too close, touching him was within reach. A flicker of movement washed over Tetsuya's expression. Emiko's eyes widened, and she felt her cheeks coloring a little as realization washed over her. Flustered, she thrusting her arm back towards her own frame in a rough manner. A desperate attempt to avoid being caught. And then he spoke. Calling out for something. Someone. Yet, it wasn't her. No doubt, Tetsuya felt the words leave his lips, expecting they would fall upon deaf ears. “Sis?” she repeated the name slowly, testing it out on her tongue.

There was no further warning. The man had fixed himself into a seated position before releasing another sigh. Which, in turn, caused the lieutenant to perk up. He had cursed her memories this time around, when deciding to speak -- ah, so that would explain where the sudden urge to call out for a sibling came from. That aside, her Captain slowly brought himself to his feet. She hadn't really got to notice his facial features before all of this, and now that she got a chance to get a look at at him. Emiko had to admit, that he was pretty good looking himself. Even if that gentle aura started to slip away. And it was just about now that she became aware that she probably had been inspecting his face for too long. The pink in her cheeks darkened a little, and Emiko cleared her throat. Sheepishly rubbing at her face, and grinning towards Tetsuya. Haa─ my work?” A small squeak of surprise shot out.

“N.. not exactly..” a pause. “You sounded like you were having a pleasant rest. I apologize for disturbing you.. what was on your mind, Shirogane-senpai?..”

Kyūbantai activities? The check-up Empty
PostSubject: Re: Kyūbantai activities? The check-up   Kyūbantai activities? The check-up EmptyWed Oct 06, 2010 8:42 am

A faint curious look in his eyes, he turned his attention towards Emiko, now staring at her face. Noticing that her cheeks were a bit flushed for some reason. Tetsuya kept his gaze set at the female in front of him, showing that his attention was now focused on her. His stare wasn't a harmful one nor an uncomfortable one. Rather showing that he was now paying attention for what she had to say. This encounter amongst the falling leaves being a bit surprising after all. He didn't think that anyone would have anymore business with him that day. Then again, she was his direct underling and a close acquaintance as well. So it wasn't completely unexpected either. It was actually quite rare for the two not to see one another at least once a day. A single leaf falling from another nearby tree came to a gentle stop on his face, right under his right eye. It was small and gentle, pale pink of color. The season was right for cherries to be blossoming right now. A pleasant sight for one to enjoy, alone or with company. Perhaps it was time he focused more on reality for once?

His eyes twitched once more, perhaps still feeling a little out of it. The palm of his right hand having also washed across the other half of his face. The scattered petals now resting in his gentle grip. The surprised squeak of his lovely little guest finally reaching his ears. A small smirk etched on his face, followed by a nearly inaudible snicker. This snicker wasn't a mocking one, rather showing some understanding towards her. The Lieutenant had a lot of paperwork to do as well after all. Tetsu was lucky to have finished his the weekend before. It's not like he had anything better to do anyways, other than enjoying a rest at spots like these or indulging in his recent hobbies. While the duties of publishing certain magazines were mostly pushed on the elegant flower of the Ninth Division, the other duties were mostly handled by the male himself. You could say that he was a fairly active as a Captain, despite his tendencies of disappearing and having a rest at an alternate location. These minor technicalities aside, it seemed like she was done for today. And he was in a good mood for once. Without any further disturbances, the evening could turn out to be a pleasant one. His lips finally parting to giver her an answer.

"Ah... Of course, you were there the whole time, weren't you?" he questioned the lady with the magenta flocks. The sound of his voice perhaps a bit bashful, out of the though of someone having looked at how he rested. The male turned silent and lifted his head towards the sky. Having finally detached his sights off Emiko's form. While showing attention was polite, too much of it could bother people. He thought about his daydream for a short moment, before bringing his steely-blue eyes towards her again. His answer shouldn't be too surprising, considering they already knew this-and-that about one another. "Hmh. You could say I was having pleasant dreams for a change. About the past", he spoke in a fairly low tone, showing that he had gone through some harsh times like many others. But his tone still wasn't annoyed or gruff like it was so often these days. He was also showing acceptance. Glad to have moments like these every now and then. Now turning his head towards the sun. Still looming large and orange over the horizon, despite gradually passing towards the other side.

Done with his rest, the young Captain brought his other hand on his shoulder, stretching his neck around. His joints making some voices, as they crackled into place. While sort of silent, this voice wouldn't necessarily be pleasant towards the likes of Emiko. But he had no idea what to do, or where to go next. Having not planned that far ahead yet. Sighing, his hand was now placed over his face. Contemplating over what he could still do that day. Perhaps just stay there and enjoy the views. That was one option. But there were many alternatives as well. "Seems like we're both free for the evening", he said and paused briefly to think about it, "I seriously have no idea how to spend all this free time. So. Any suggestions?"

Kyūbantai activities? The check-up Empty
PostSubject: Re: Kyūbantai activities? The check-up   Kyūbantai activities? The check-up EmptyWed Oct 13, 2010 5:48 pm

If faced with long, tedious days, with absolutely naught to do, and the elements are lulling you to sleep. Most Shinigami would occupy wherever they could, grasping the opportunity to catch a quick snooze. Viewed like that, Emiko attainted full understanding over why her Captain chose this particular spot for some time off. What could possibly make a day appealing? A brilliant blue sky, and sparkling sun brightening the sky? Or did there have to be something more to qualify it? People? Yes that had to be it. Sure enough, all sorts of people in every shape and size were located within this realm. To imagine, that one individual had the power to influence one's entire day, and the mood it held. Then the tangled mass of wires that made up the fabric of her mind straightened out, a single thought registered. Tetsuya had to be her person, if only for the day. While ultramarine optics scanned along the canopy of the leaves stationed above them, waiting out the lingering silence between the two; the light sound of chirping birds broke through, filling the air with it's peaceful melody. Another sound introduced itself to the woman's ever-alert drums, if only barely. Eyes darted to the man, whom she labeled as the culprit of such a noise.

The shape of her 'brow lifted itself up into a perfect arch, almost questioning him, intrigued by his reaction. If placed in the position of anyone else in her division, The Captain's reaction would not be identical to the one he had recently portrayed. Aware that Tetsuya is a perfectly reasonable man, Emiko would not put it past him to show some form of punishment towards those failing their duties. A naturally wide smile curled upon the corners of her lips, aimed towards the question that now faced her. Finding an answer to this one wouldn't be easy. Though, the Shinigami had never pictured her Captain the type to show embarrassment. Telling the truth was also essential. “Not entirely; I believe I was here a short while before you awoke. Not that you would mind.” The female's voice cooed softly, the hidden affection pulling at the lilt of her remark. “Don't worry, I'm not the sort of woman to go around telling everyone about how adorable you look while sleeping. And you should know that by now.” Now a smirk brushed over her expression. Gazing up at him, her bright eyes glittering with amusement. It appeared now that his own attention was up in the clouds. Not that it mattered.

With a clash of blue, his gaze fixed onto her own, to her surprise. Unlike before, the female held the connection between their eyes, willing herself to not break it. “The past, you say?” she asked, her voice soft but warm. Feeling the need to acknowledge what emotion laced through his words, which was foreign to her own mind. The freedom to question him about those dreams sparked numerous times, being tossed aside relentlessly. Would it make her seem nosy, she wasn't sure. All these thoughts made her nervous, so she decided to just allow whatever she was thinking to form into words, and not over analyze things. “You're very interesting when you sleep,” drawing in a deep intake of breath, Emiko proceeded to speak. “You remind me of an innocent child, even the way you speak is unreal.” An almost confused expression came over her face before it hit her, Tetsuya closed himself off, now returning his eyes towards the sky. It was just now that she felt relieved, and a bit foolish for seeking out the man.

Emiko found herself nodding slowly in response, in fact, the woman had the entire day planned away. Bright blues sparkled lightly as she could see he was trying his best to involve her with his plans, and she really did appreciate his efforts. “If you're up for it, we could easily soak up in the springs for a while. Then reward ourselves with some sake, for all the hard work we've been doing lately!” Realization was quick to claim her mind, a powder of red coating her cheeks. Gomen nasai. You may not be comfortable with that idea, am I correct, Tetsuya-san?”

Kyūbantai activities? The check-up Empty

Tetsuya found himself taken aback by the answers of the female, if only slightly. What, with her revealing what she really thought of the views she gazed upon mere moments ago. Or perhaps she was just teasing him. His own eyebrow raised to a barely amused look the moment she called him adorable. At least in his previously drowsy state. He figured that she was doing both right now. Being honest about how she thought, while still dropping the usual tease there as well. The statement was still very surprising though. Such a broody man like him. Adorable? The statement seemed to contradictory that he couldn't help himself, a small snicker escaping through his lips. He didn't quite understand it himself, the way the female mind sometime works, or why she would think like that. But it was a refreshing thought anyways, so he scrapped his plans of replying with a sarcastic remark like he usually did. He somehow found himself enjoying short moments like these. Just being himself openly, without having all his usual worries bothering him. A single fleeting reprieve from reality. Even harsh and moody people like him needed to take a moment to enjoy themselves every once in a while.

His eyes already set somewhere towards the distance, for a moment it seemed like his attention was also somewhere else. In reality his ears still focusing on both, the voices of the flourishing spring nature, and the pleasant voice of his Lieutenant. The sounds mixed in together harmoniously, creating a sort of sonata. But his mind wouldn't get distracted quite that easily. His auricles still focused on the most important sound of them all. More surprises echoing through his encephalon. Him? An interesting person? Even compared to an innocent child? Something about that last statement bugged him. His expression now reflecting a dull annoyance. A visual counter, or so to say. Of course, most men wouldn't like getting compared to a child. Even if it was about his peaceful slumber. But he'd get over it in an instant. Living close to the likes of the serpent and his offspring, he already knew better than to fall for such simple teases. It seemed like some people had a bad habit of trying to get on his nerves one way or another. Yet they all had their own styles of doing it. The likes of Jush only wanted to torment him, while others would rather seek out amusing reactions.

Having mentioned that he had a lot of free time before, Tetsu was now waiting for Emiko's response. It seemed like she often had plans for the free evenings she had, or so he thought. His guess not being that far off. He turned around towards her, taking a while to ponder about it himself. For once he felt like doing something he wouldn't usually do. Such a change of pace could perhaps even do some good for him, unusual as it was. Taking a dip in the hot springs. Right now, it certainly sounded like a tempting offer, even though he didn't necessarily want to admit it. The springs were a delicacy, one that the male rarely took the chance to enjoy. Taking note that he had been very tense lately. The cracking joints of his further proving his mental point. Heck, even the drink didn't sound that bad right about now. It had been forever since he properly enjoyed alcohol. But before giving his response, there were other comments to be made. His eyes still showing signs of curiosity. His face pulled up into the faintest of smirks. How unusual, the Captain felt like playing along for once.

"Eh... So you think that I am adorable? Such an interesting person during sleep? Almost like an innocent child?" he added a certain weight to his words, also inching towards his companion slowly while doing so. While he was still standing some distance away from Emi, the pressure was certainly there. And woosh, he was gone from the spot, having suddenly sneaked right next to her. His face having been brought right next to hears. So close, yet so far off. He almost made contact with her, their skins barely touching. What was he trying to do? Turning the tables by forcing her into a hug, or perhaps going even further than that? Hah. The index finger of his right arm had landed square, right in the middle of her forehead. Poking her softly. It was his turn to try and provoke a reaction. But after that small action, he was done. Back to his usual self. "No, no need to be so sorry. I actually like your idea. Going out to the springs and having a couple of drinks. It'd be a nice change of pace for me", he spoke with a sigh, sounding oddly carefree. He then turned around, taking a look back towards Emi. "Come on. It was your suggestion right? Lead the way"

[Exit after Emiko posts ---> ???]

Kyūbantai activities? The check-up Empty

Through-out the duration she had known her Captain, the only way to describe him would be as an on-going puzzle. Everyone else, rather, were like books; easy to read, some more interesting than others. As for him, there were so many individual pieces that had to be put together. Just when you think you've solved it, you really haven't. This naturally lured out her curious nature, and try new things out, to see which was acceptable in his eyes, and what ultimately wasn't. This did not mean Emiko did not care for the man, because she did, greatly, it just seemed that her thoughts were entirely disconnected from any other segment of her being, though, only in the company of this man. Being brought out of her thoughts, only when Tetsuya snickered back at her. That was a good sign. On the usual assumption, the Shinigami thought he'd be bothered by such comments; compliments, rather, or disregard them altogether. But now, it seemed he didn't like it when she referred to him as a child. Detecting the sudden change in his expression. Gathering the recent information, she stored them in the library known as her mind.

Still, back to the matter at hand. Not once had our darling lady visited the springs in the company of her Captain. And to add, she had never sat herself down and shared a proper drink with him. In turn, this could turn out to be one of the most interesting experiences she had with a man. Recalling from previous knowledge. The only time Tetsuya had encountered her with any of the toxin inside her body, was when recovering from a hangover. Which proved to be the majority of her work hours. Now, seeing her intoxicated with liquor, it might bring around a few surprises. Nothing was ever certain with alcohol. So it wouldn't be certain how she'd act around him either. It could go either one of the two ways; calm and relaxed, a perfect environment to let themselves both loose. Meaning they could also get to know each other a little better. However, her attraction towards him could potentially overpower the female. They did say the truth all came out when one is drunk. Hopefully she wouldn't spew some ridiculous slur of a confession towards him by the end of the night. That also placed an interesting though in her head. To fill him with liquor and possibly obtain his affections, maybe even more. Could the woman ever do such a thing? All these thoughts were a bit overwhelming.

Azure eyes flew to the side, waiting for something, though she didn't know what. Her heart stopped when she heard Tetsuya say something, obviously to her. Appearing to be puzzled by his words. Porcelain, pale cheeks turned bright red. And a sheepish, embarrassed giggle escaped her. Attraction for another being. Such a fatal, and selfish thing. It wasn't long before the tension took hold, forcing more weight down upon her. From the spot he once was, he was now dangerously close. She took in a sharp intake of breath, to try and kick-start her heart again, but it was useless. Emiko was frozen in place, and absolutely anxious. There was something completely hypnotizing about this. Being in such a close proximity of the male, it made her melt. Seeming totally juvenile, but that's exactly how it felt. Why hadn't she noticed this before? It was because she had never really looked at him, not like this. The motives the other held, it wasn't clear to the woman, thus she wasn't sure how to react. Only willing herself to remain perfectly still, waiting patiently. Hoping that he would make the move she was now anticipating.

The sudden connection between his finger and her forehead, caused her expression to twist into some form of a wince. A sudden breath escaped her, she hadn't realized she was holding her breath, and had been since gasping. For a moment the fair-haired maiden was stunned. The brutal attack did not go amiss. While it was seemingly harmless, it did enough damage to her feelings. With a subtle toss of the head, optics snapped onto the man, sending a glare in his direction; such a look did not suit her features. Which, was why she ridded herself of it. The blush that once adorned her features – due to the closeness they had – now one of sheer embarrassment. And he blew it off so casually, too. As if nothing happened. This did not settle down so well. “W.. Why would y-you do such a thing?!.. d.. don't you realize how I--” Biting her tongue, as anger hinted in her voice, she saved herself the trouble of pointless words. If at anything, it would create more tension. Deciding that her reaction had blown a bit out of proportion, she decided to take the lead. Also casually brushing this incident off her shoulders. “Right you are. Follow me, we'll be there in no time.” Voice showing all signs that she was regaining composure.
